For behavioral concerns in children and teens, research supports the use of interventions, such as Parent Management Training (PMT). PMT is an effective intervention to address issues such as verbal and physical aggression, defiance and oppositional behaviors. PMT and other interventions require parent/caregiver involvement throughout therapy. PMT focuses on teaching caregivers different ways to respond to their children's behaviors and rewarding the positives. However, therapy approaches are not, "One size fits all." There are other interventions, such as Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) that might be more beneficial in addressing behavioral concerns. It's important to explore various interventions and identify which ones might be the most effective.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and exposure therapies are often effective interventions when treating anxiety and depressive disorders. CBT involves learning about negative thought patterns and challenging these negative patterns. Exposure therapy involves exposing oneself to triggers that create anxiety in order to desensitize from those triggers. Exposure therapy is especially effective with disorders like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Panic Disorder. Together, I can help support working through these issues using these techniques.
Online therapy sessions are available through a secure (HIPPA compliant)

Infant mental health refers to the mental health needs of young children, typically from birth to age 5. The focus of this approach is on the relationship between the caregivers with their young child. Poor attachment can be a risk factor for mental illness. Caregiver education and training are emphasized to help strengthen their attachment to the young child.
